Dr. Abbey Dupay, DMD
Fort Myers-raised. A third-grade teacher before dental school. And now the kind of dentist people drive past three corporate offices to see.
The teacher who became a dentist
Dr. Dupay's first career wasn't dentistry — it was a third-grade classroom. She grew up in Fort Myers, earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education, and taught before going back for a second degree in health science and her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.
Patients feel the classroom years immediately. She doesn't announce treatment; she explains it — what's happening in your mouth, why it matters, what the options cost in money and time, and what happens if you wait. Patients' own reviews say it plainly: "very thorough in explaining things and answering all my questions." You leave knowing more about your teeth than when you walked in. That's on purpose.
Trained wide, on purpose
A one-dentist practice only works if that dentist trained far beyond the basics. Across years of practice in Port Charlotte, Fort Myers, and Auburndale before settling in Bonita Springs, Dr. Dupay built expertise spanning general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry, Invisalign®, and sleep apnea dental appliance therapy. She holds a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists — a recognized implant-dentistry credential — which is why single and double implants stay in-house here instead of becoming referral letters.
Why a small practice, on purpose
Corporate dental chains run on rotation: revolving associates, production targets, and a different face at every cleaning. Dr. Dupay built the opposite — a doctor-owned office where the person who did your crown is the person checking it five years later, and where nobody earns a bonus for finding something to sell you. Patients describe it as "that small town, family dentist feel." That's the product.
